NDP provides opportunities to experience
service throughout the high school years and encourages students
to get involved with various opportunities outside of school.
During Senior year, we require all students to have a
significant experience of serving others meeting the following
criteria:
o
At least 40 hours beginning the 4th
quarter of Junior Year
o
Direct service (face to face with the people being
served)
o
Recommended to fulfill hours all at one site in
order to build relationships
o
Must be with a marginalized group such as the
elderly, people with disabilities, or people living in material
poverty
o
Service approved by Social Service Director
o
Students reflect upon and process their service
experiences in Social Service Class.
o
Students will keep written record of the status of
their hours so that when asked by the Social Service Director,
they will be able to respond accurately. |
