Urban Forum: The Boys of Baraka

We are delighted to host the following guests for a panel discussion following the viewing of the film

Rachel Grady (left) & Heidi Ewing are the Co-Directors and Co-Producers of The Boys of Baraka.  They founded their production company, Loki Films in 2001, and are currently nominated for an Oscar for their most recent documentary Jesus Camp.  For more information about Heidi, Rachel, and Loki Films, click here.

Devon Brown is one of the four boys featured in the film.  He is now a high school junior and president of his class.  Pursuing an acting career, Devon has appeared on HBO's The Wire.  See what else he's up to on Devon's website.

Montrey Moore is going to high school in Baltimore as well and still excelling in Math.

Richard Keyser, Jr. The first boy that we meet in the film.  Richard is still living in Baltimore, getting a GED through Job Corps and studying to be a correctional officer.

Richard Burton is Devon's mentor.  He is very involved with Baltimore community issues and hosts TV 25's Eye on Baltimore.  He has also appeared on HBO's The Wire.

Claire Hartman, is the moderator of our panel.  She is the producer of Provoke Radio.  An NDP Class of 1971 Alum, Claire Hartman was inducted into the NDP Foundress Society in 2004 because of her outstanding contributions to the cause of peace and justice in our world.
