| What is an Urban Forum? |
| Club Umoja, in it mission to do
continuing outreach to the boys & girls of Camp Umoja,
also sets out to raise greater awareness about the
issues that these children face. Periodically we
will be hosting events called Urban Forums to highlight
and discuss these issues. |

Event
Summary & Format |
| Our first event will be the viewing
of the critically acclaimed documentary film, The
Boys of Baraka and having a follow-up discussion
with the film makers and some of the boys featured in
the film as well as other
special guests. The film tells the story of
twenty “at-risk” middle school boys from Baltimore City
who were selected to study at the Baraka School in
Kenya. It highlights the realities of living in
Baltimore City’s most neglected neighborhoods and the
influence such an opportunity has on Baltimore youth.
