Douglass Homes is a public housing project in East Baltimore City where many kids from the second session of Camp Umoja live.
One Friday a month, a group of 14 girls is able to go down to Douglass Homes and spend time with the kids from 4 to 5:30 PM in their community center. During this time, the whole group does an activity, and the rest of the time is spent individually bonding with the kids and snacking. The kids are awesome, amazing, energetic, and are really grateful for our trips down to their home.
We leave NDP from Mr. Gruswitz's office directly after school. We ordinarily ride a Blazer mini-bus down and return between 6:00 and 6:30pm.
